Start It Up: The Newsroom

The Newsroom Season 2 premiered last night, and for those of you not watching...
START IT UP

I am currently sailing through Season 1 of HBO's drama following a Primetime news show.

Written by the legendary Aaron Sorkin, it follows a Primetime news anchor (played by Jeff Daniels) and his team of producers/reporters retelling monumental media history moments (starting in 2010). Although I am behind with the newest episodes, I expect to catch up very fast because the show is doing something most hour-long dramas (*cough True Blood cough*) aren't doing.... keeping me engaged. Whether it's with it's soap opera love triangles (and we all know I eat that shit up) or it's increasing sexual tension between Talent/ Executive Producer. The show balances emotional drama with reality drama perfectly. If you are wondering why this show hasn't been on your radar for it's first season it may have to do with the mix reviews from critics and HBO's teetering on to keep the show or not. I for one and rejoicing it's still on, hopefully Season 2 will pick up some steam.

If you are looking for a new show with brilliant writing and a phenomenal cast.... I don't know why you are still reading this... go watch it. NOW

Love,

TV Friday!

TGIF!!!!

Unless you have a perfectly good excuse for not going to get your sexy on..... here are some addicting Netflix picks that will waste your weekend away.

Revenge

This Primetime soap drama is in it's sophomore season currently, so all the more reason to start season 1! The show follows an ex-juvie (who is a total babe) and her path to avenge her father's death. Set in the glorious Hamptons, the show explores mystery, the upper elite, and human morality. The passion behind Amanda's blood thirst for revenge creates an addicting "what's gonna happen next?" quality. With a great cast and SEVERAL plot twists, this show will always keep you on your toes.

Freaks and Geeks

A little throwback..... Here is Judd Apatow's starter show that follows some famous faces and their journey through high school. The comedy uses Apatow's classic sense of humor and gave careers to some famous faces such as James Franco, Seth Rogan, Jason Segal.... ever heard of them? Sadly, the show was short lived, but I think everyone is doing pretty well for themselves.

The Walking Dead

Although I am a sucker for anything about vampires, werewolves, and zombies, I have yet to see the Walking Dead. This cult hit is all anyone is talking about, and thankfully you can begin the series on Netflix.... Let's take the journey together.
